Fairmount Park

Overview

Nestled within the bluffs of Council Bluffs, Fairmount Park offers a unique outdoor experience that feels far removed from the city while remaining just minutes from downtown. Spanning approximately 105 acres, the historic park combines scenic beauty, recreation, and some of the community's most popular outdoor amenities.

Visitors can explore wooded trails, enjoy a modern playground, cool off at the popular splash pad, or play a round on the park's 10-hole disc golf course. A covered picnic area near the splash pad makes the park a favorite gathering place for families, groups, and community events throughout the warmer months.

Fairmount Park is perhaps best known for its scenic overlook, which offers sweeping views of western Council Bluffs, the Missouri River valley, and the Omaha skyline. With its blend of natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and unforgettable views, Fairmount Park remains one of Council Bluffs' premier outdoor destinations.

The park is handicapped accessible, with entrances located off Graham Avenue and Park Street.
