Carson Railroad Depot

Overview

In 1880, the Burlington and Rock Island Railroad opened transportation access to settlers in what is now Carson. Initially, passengers and freight were unloaded in a nearby field until the depot was constructed a few years later. The railroad’s arrival sparked plans for settlement, leading to the official naming and incorporation of the City of Carson in 1881, starting with a population of 240 residents.
