FIRST AVE Trail

Overview

FIRST AVE Trail runs from 16th to 35th Street and connects with other trail networks. The former rail corridor is one block away from West Broadway, Council Bluffs' main thoroughfare.

The trail features lighting, public spaces, and trail plazas. Several murals transform the corridor into a place of artistic expression. The plazas include shaded seating, open green spaces, and bicycle parking. Cochran Park along the trail offers more recreational fun. The recently renovated park has a new playground, ball field, pickleball courts, and basketball courts.

FIRST AVE received a Laurels Award from Omaha by Design for Access and Mobility.
