Grab a shovel and help repair trails in need of some TLC with the Loess Hills Nordic Ski Patrol on National Trails Day!
This volunteer event is perfect for hardworking helpers who aren't afraid to get a little dirty while assisting with trail repair and maintenance on National Trails Day. Due to the steep topography in the Loess Hills, portions of various trails, including Badger Ridge, Turkey Run, and Hohneke Trail, have suffered significant erosion and damage from rain and foot traffic. We need YOUR help to repair these trails, improve the visitor experience, and protect this ecologically significant area.
Training, a safety briefing, and lunch (at the conclusion of the shift) will be provided.
