Hitchcock Open Mic(less) Night

October 15 | 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Hitchcock Nature Center

Join Pottawattamie Conservation and naturalist Dustin Clayton at Hitchcock Open Mic(less) Night, a community event for ages 16+ that is free to attend with paid park entry ($5 per vehicle) or a Pottawattamie Conservation annual membership.

Share songs, poetry, comedy, and stories with other community members while surrounded by the beautiful and globally significant Loess Hills. There is no particular theme, and attendance is welcome whether you wish to share or to simply listen.

This event will take place at Heartwood Pavilion, which was mindfully constructed from timber harvested from the park as part of a prairie restoration project.

Please feel free to bring snacks or drinks.

Some Guidelines:

  • Unlike traditional open mic nights, this event will not have a mic or amplification. Please plan to share your talents accordingly.
  • Please have your poem or song prepared ahead of the event to ensure that it fits within the allotted time.
  • Please keep contributions to five minutes or less. A one-minute grace period will be permitted.
  • Be kind and civil. Avoid using offensive or derogatory language.
  • Be respectful and listen attentively to others.
  • Connect with others, and have fun!
