Gardening with Native Plants: Garden Design and Maintenance Field Trip
April 23 | 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.Unleash Council Bluffs
Council Bluffs Public Library and Pottawattamie Conservation have teamed up to offer a free four-class series focused on giving you the confidence and background knowledge you need to grow a beautiful native garden that supports wildlife and provides benefits to you and your community. This is the final class in the series.
Getting the right plant in the right location is the key to a successful native garden. This final session will meet at Unleash Council Bluffs, where we’ll tour their native plantings with Nick Bonham from Lucky Toad Restorative Gardens, who built the garden from the sod up and Mark Eckman, Executive Director of Unleash Council Bluffs. Bonham and Eckman will share their experiences building the garden from the sod up, including design elements, preparing the site, selecting species for the site conditions, and native garden maintenance.
