Coaching Authorization/Ethics Online (COACH-1)
January 28-March 5, 2027
This five-week online course fulfills the required coursework to apply for the State of Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BOEE) Coaching Authorization. The second week of class will include the first mandatory Zoom session with the instructor. During the third week, students will complete the remaining five Zoom sessions. All Zoom sessions run from 6–7:30 PM. Successful completion of this course and the BOEE application process qualify participants to serve as an assistant or head coach for any K–12 sport in Iowa.
Required books: Sports First Aid (Melinda Flegel 5th edition) & Successful Coaching (Rainer Martens 4th edition)
